A friend (detecting buddy) of mine just dug this in a cow pasture in the neighboring county.
It’s rough, but it’s plainly a Nova Constellatio! You can see the eye in the center of the design.
Even though this one likely doesn’t have much monetary value as-is, it makes you wonder what else is out there. My friend who dug this has found some truly remarkable Colonial, Rev War, and Civil War era relics and coins.
In fact, some of the stuff he’s found I would not have believed, except I’ve been out in the field with him and seen him in action. He’s a Jedi-class detectorist.

Same fella dug this one ‘round these parts a few years back. Sometimes in the well-drained, sandier soils here, the copper comes out nice.
Those are some nice finds. Locating stuff that old definitely takes much skill and maybe a bit of luck thrown in.
Congrats to him on his finds.

Very cool!
Yes, definitely both. Great skill and persistence, combined with just the right amount of luck.

Wow, I can't argue bout that large cent, I like 👍
Nice! I really like the Nova Constellatios, a lot of mystery surrounding their minting.
Amazing to find such treasures regardless of condition or worth!
Been sitting in that pasture over 200 years!

excellent!
Both nice but I really like the Draped Bust Large Cent.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Very cool, thanks for sharing Rob! I like this type and managed to locate an example last year. Makes me want to dabble in colonials.
I absolutely LOVE that CircCam Nova! Should you ever tire of it…
