Found in PC 2000 P quarter

I recently was given change of .85 cents and one of the quarters looked awful shiny well I get home and take a closer inspection and find it seems to be silver. There is no copper line on end and it weighs just over 5.9grams . The red book list a silver edition but that it would be stamp S not P. Anyone heard of said anomalies

Pictures would be best, but tons of the state quarters were silver or gold plated by private companies and sold in sets. Sounds like one of them.

Recalling the days when the occasional silver dime or quarter would show up in change, it was the sound that was the first tip off.

    Welcome to the forum
A silver quarter would weigh 6.25g. Without a photo, I would say you have a silver
or nickel plated quarter with the plating accounting for the slight extra weight.
