Help please! What is this? (1943-s Lincoln cent)

This is part of a cheap coins of the past set. The 1943-s looks to have more of a blue tint than the silver coins. When I was a kid in the 70s I bought a 1943-s with the same blue tint (memory of 50 years ago could be wrong. Anyway were all new steel cents like this and then worn down with use? I don't think it's worth anything but I collect cards not coins so if that's a dumb question forgive me.

I suspect it may be plated?

That kind of plating was very common during the 1960's.

I love thread that poses a question in the title and then proceeds to answer it, in the title.

Also looks to have been in a bezel.
