I got this coin a while back and now can not find it but did take this picture - yea or nay (and I know probably nay):

Ummm...did you preview the post to check your images?
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Not
Well I edited right away b/c I dumped the wrong 3 images.
At the top right of top loop there is extra bit of metal.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Weird as I see what you're looking at, too. There is that notch to the west of the 8 where the 7 should be, but nothing on the leg of that seven. Going to say nay based on that. There should be evidence in the inside of the loops of the 8

I wouldn't buy it as one.
It was scrap silver so a GOOD buy regardless. There is also a square bit of metal to the EAST of the top of the "8",. or to the viewer's right. Also the top loop of the "8" is very thick with the "donut hole" being small compared to the bottom one.
Not saying it is overdate but just interesting as to how that got there as a bit convenient for a die chip there....
Well, just Love coins, period.
Just compare it with the overdate detail from PCGS CoinFacts.
It's not even close. The lower loop of the 8 should be nearly filled with the 7.
It's a nice full date for scrap silver, though.
I’m glad you’re not claiming it’s an over date 😉 Clearly, it’s not and any unusual characteristics aside, I don’t understand why you’d even ask.

That was not particularly or directly responsive to the question, possibly less than I would expect from you.
Because as a collector of foreign coins there are many similar coins with overdates that are of this type - that some would count and others discount as being such. So actually quite reasonable - much as I would suspect that if you had concerns about a late milled pre-decimal British coin I could less charitably be so disposed with such a comment. I am sure you did not mean to have it come across as aggressively as you just did.
Well, just Love coins, period.
No need to get defensive. It's just that it was so obvious from the photo that your coin is not the overdate that people were surprised you'd ask the question, that's all.
I’m sorry if my comments came across as aggressive. I’ve seen many of your posts here over a long period of time. And since you wrote “…and I know probably nay”, my thought was that you’d viewed pictures of overdate examples and would see that your coin didn’t match.
While I do feel that my post was directly responsive (as it included “ Clearly, it’s not”). again, I’m sorry that it came across as it did.

Overdate discussion aside, there seems to be some slight lamination activity in the date area. Lam. cracks?
No way Jose. Not even close to an overdate.
