It's clickbait designed to either generate revenue or install malware onto your computer or attempt to phish for information about you. These aren't meant to be legitimate new stories. They are meant to exploit those who click them.

    On my news feed?

I don't know what your "news feed" is, but companies routinely place ads (or other things) designed to appear as news stories on websites to get folks to click them.

Looks like Google searches engine. Another just popped up with a mix of niche art and legit news articles on my phone.

    Now you got me worried.

The intrusion into my searches and interest is Insidious stuff TBH...

1913 nickel and unspecified 1940's Mercs are two of the top 5 coins to hold in 2025.

A couple weeks ago, I actually got a push notification on my phone! It was this bs promoted app on social media, made me sick to my stomach.

I set up a Google listing sourcing coins from locals, but at this point I dread even answering the phone anymore. I’m sure it’s been brutal for the b&ms.

Heres a related thread from a couple weeks ago:

I’ve been seeing similar on Facebook for about 3 years or so, but now other places too. I see them so frequently that I barely notice them anymore and don’t hesitate and look at them. If you hesitate and read or look at them for longer than a few seconds it triggers them to send you more.
