Best Dealer to Source New Mexican Libertad Issues?

Dealt with a long standing business for many years that specializes in Mexican coinage; Libertads; etc., but, mail deliveries come much later than expected. Much later than everyone else seems to have the product. Worries me a little.....

You know, I have also been trying to figure this out, and seem to have to go to different dealers every year with no seeming rhyme or reason as to who gets allotments and/or ends up with coins for sale - not necessarily the same thing if you know what I mean. Also the prices charged seem to vary enormously...

You didn’t say what country in which you are located.

In the USA, I have always purchased from Don Bailey when I was buying these. Don is now deceased, but his step-son still runs the business (out of Houston, I believe, and on eBay).

Just be aware, all dealers buy these from the Bank of Mexico, and they are notoriously difficult to deal with. So any problems you may be having with one dealer could stem from that fact.

Since I attend the shows in Mexico City, I used to buy them there, but the Bank is no longer invited to those shows, so that is no longer possible.

There is a reason these are priced so high!

That is very useful and explains a lot of what at least I have seen. Thank you Pruebas!

I just bought a two ounce reverse proof ($199) from the Coin Shoppe (online)in Canada. Good price, no sales tax. Used them last year as well and they are less expensive this year .
