Teoscar Hernandez signs with Dodgers 😩

My Christmas miracle of Teoscar signing with the Royals is not happening.
Still stuck with the terrifying thought of the same outfield of MJ Melendez, Kyle Isbel and Hunter Renfoe. Something has to happen, KC has to try to get a power hitting outfielder. We can’t have 3 .220-230 hitting outfielders with middling to marginal power out there. Who is left they can get?🤔

That is just brutal production from third base and the entire outfield. They traded Singer for India. What did you think of that trade?

They can sign either Alonso or Bregman. Alonso would be DH and then they can shuffle their second basemen to platoon with their current third base and LF situation, if Massey and India can play 3B.

Bregman would improve third base right away.

Both Alonso and Bregman are concerns on future declining production though.

Michael Massey when healthy is a good second basemen. I’m not sure but I think he may have a chronic bad back condition. Maybe they got India thinking Massey can’t get through a full season healthy and can be a utility infielder. I think they expect Mikael Garcia to improve in 2025 so they will probably stick with him at third. He shows signs that he could be a good hitter but the consistency just wasn’t there last year.
Pete Alonso would be great! Like you say he could be full time DH and sometimes switch with Pasquintino at first base and it would also be helpful if both those guys could play right field occasionally.
One thing is certain….. KC needs one or two more productive bats in the lineup to be a serious contender, hope they’re working on it. Don’t know if they have any promising outfielders in the minor leagues that could help.

Anthony Santander is another guy but it doesn't look like the Royals are going to compete with any of the big clubs for these guys.

Maybe they can pry Luis Robert from the White Sox. Do they have another Pedro Grifol they can pawn off? :)

Even if they Royals were willing to spend the money on some of these guys which I dont think they are, I doubt they have any interest in anyone that has draft compensation tied to them

Im guessing theyre more in like the Bader, Verdugo, Moncada type market than the big boys.

Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007

Well I didn’t realize Brent Rooker was a Royal in 2022. Played 14 games for KC then he went to the A’s where he hit 30 homers in 2023 and 39 in 2024. Guess who the Royals need to be an actual contender? BRENT ROOKER! 😩😫😢😢
I’m inconsolable at this point. A legit power hitting outfielder and we got rid of him before giving him a chance.
Yet MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel are .220 hitters with little to no power but they start almost every game.
