Does anyone know the current market value of this card in NM-MT condition? I'm asking because my buddy's daughter gave him this card for Christmas and we both think his daughter got ripped off. She paid $100 for it.

Nice thought…but Pole looks like a lump of coal….return!

    I stand corrected...good buy.

Your buddies daughter has a great sense of humor and well worth it for the joke. Kudos to her! Not everything should be gauged in FMV! File under "Priceless"

BTW he started his pro career in '69 :)

    Any idea on the value?

  • Possibly a better deal than the current cost of one dozen eggs.

Anyone have an idea on what this is worth? I can't find anything on line.

Buck or two at most I would think, most likely being bought by the guys who wanted the "funny name" to add to their side collections.

I don't recall if his name stood out for me when I was a kid, although guessing there was probably a joke or two among friends when we found one in a pack. I will forever think of Dick Pole as a Mariner in the 1978 Topps set. First time buying cards and the Mariners being the home club.

Anyone have one of these photos of Pole? Or Manager Darrell Johnson. Looking for both.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

the seller in the Ebay link above sells common players from minor league sets for 15-30 each... that should say alot about the overprice on this.. but I can tell you from the way I collect that particular Dick Pole card is the one to have and I typically see it sell $10-40 depending on availability.

LOL looks like the seller sold two more Dick Pole cards for $100 each. He has two left. I looked on the PSA website to see if they have ever graded this card but I can't find the listing.

Another Dick Pole just sold for $100. Card is selling like hot cakes. Only one left. I wonder what a PSA 9 would sell for?
