The 43-O small letters $5 is a scarce and underrated coin. According to Doug Winter, it is the third rarest New Orleans half eagle, trailing behind only the 47-O and the 42-O with an estimated population of 90-100. It’s especially tough to find nice. To date, only 16 have been stickered by CAC. This XF45 is in an old blue holder and is sharp for the grade. Asking $SOLD.
