I'm looking to photograph a Draped Bust Quarter in VF or Better

Hey folks,

Per the title, the purpose of my quest is to create an illustration for a custom album cover. While I do not expect anyone to order such an album, I would like to have the option available for whoever might be interested should that some day happen.

Draped Bust and Capped Bust Quarters will have options for die varieties in the customized product at the collector's discretion.

On Sunday, December 29th, I'll be set up at a local show in Westport, MA with my camera rig and several of the homemade albums. I offer free photography at the show.

Thanks in advance for checking out this thread. I appreciate anyone who can help me out in this endeavor.

Would you be able to use a Trueview to make your illustration or do you want to take a photo yourself for copyright reasons? I have a VF but it’s in one of my safety deposit boxes in one of the 2 banks I use, since they cut their weekend hours it’s been hard to get to them, but here’s the Trueview images if you can somehow use those

A similar option would be to look at Photo Grade, where there will be numerous options in the VF+ range.

@Mr_Spud and @airplanenut I appreciate the suggestion to use TrueViews, for me though it is a matter of copyright reasons. That 1806 is of the quality I am looking to photograph.

I understand. If nobody else can help you out, I’ll try to find mine in one of the bank boxes and lend it to you, but it’ll take a while.

My albums do not accommodate slabs, unfortunately. As far as varieties go, you are welcome to interact with the website I designed. There are templates with checklists for dates, varieties, and proofs, all selectable to your desire. A preview option at the bottom of each template page allows you to review the layout of the selected dates before proceeding.

For example, with Indian Head cents you can opt for your 1864 to include any and all of the three types for that year, or just an anonymous single coin disregarding composition or initial. You can also choose to exclude expensive dates like the 1877 or 1909-S

Or, perhaps in light of your username here, you may enjoy assembling a set of Capped Bust Half Dollars by Overton variety:

My goal with these albums is to respect the collector's desire and ability to collect the way they want to collect.
