What about that single hit should relegate this coin to a details grade in your opinion? Given the overall clean fields and pleasing look of the coin that single hit would not automatically say details to me from the photo, in hand I might think differently.

Any chance it's a strike thru?

I don't see anything that precludes the assigned grade. If it bothers you, don't buy it.

It could be a strike thru, but even if it’s not, it should be straight graded. Like @jmlanzaf said, don’t buy if it bothers you.

I have a similar coin that I had posted on here that most said would not straight grade. Which I agreed. But after seeing this coin now I'm not so sure that it wouldn't grade. I would post the previous link but the photo is gone and I cant find the photos that I had posted.

Boy does time fly I looked at the date that I posted that coin and it was 10 years ago.

When it comes time to sell that scratch (or whatever it is) is going to look like the Grand Canyon.

Unless the defect is as minted, it is too large to not assume a details grade when pricing it for purchase, and even then ... very distracting, problem coin but nice for what it is (unique).
