Josh Allen….. help me understand

I know there is a big fantasy league/following on here so help me understand the Josh Allen play tonight. I have been doing fantasy football for 30 years…… how is Josh getting credit for a receiving touchdown??!! He didn’t catch the pass! It is a rushing touchdown since he caught a pitch back. Amari gets credit for the catch and Josh should get credit for a rushing touchdown. He did not catch the ball he threw!! Help me understand please

It’s like the ole hook and ladder play. You can’t have a rush and pass on the same play. When Allen completed the pass it was a pass play then the lateral which he ran in. It’s still a pass play

You’re probably exactly right in how the statisticians look at it and score it but that is absolutely the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. The catch was made by Amari Cooper so no other player should be able to get a receiving touchdown. You absolutely should be able to have a reception and a rushing TD on the same play since that is exactly what happened. I remember the great play Randy Moss made many years ago when he caught a long pass before the half and lateraled it to Robert Smith who ran it in. Was that a TD pass for Culpepper and a receiving TD for Robert Smith?

Another point here. On a pitch play to end a game if the pass is completed and then 8 pitches ensue and a guy scores is that considered a TD pass?

    Yes

No because they were laterals not forward passes

  • The Randy Moss lateral was to Moe Williams in 2004 as the 1st half clock ran out against Denver. Culpepper was credited w/ TD pass, and Williams with a Receiving TD.
