Your Opinions and Authenticity Check - Mexico 8R Mo 1802 FT
Hi everyone.
After a long 15 year hiatus, I rekindled my interest on Spanish Colonial 8-reales.
I very recently received this Spanish Colonial 8-Reales -- a 8R Carolus-IIII Mo 1802 FT, apparently around F/F+ condition.
My observations :
It's a cleaned (white) coin, with some dark patches on the obverse, right below the chin of the bust. Overall obverse portrait and shield (on the reverse) have good details.
The dentils are not sharp and prominent.
I can find the rim having the two overlaps, but apparent cleaning makes it very shinny.
The legend on the periphery, especially at 'DEI GRATIA', has some relative roughness.
I also noticed some blobs on top of the left pillar.
Weight is 26.93 grams.
I would appreciate your expert opinions and **authenticity **check on this coin.

Welcome back! Hope to see you share more of your coins as you get you momentum back. Looks ok to me albeit cleaned and damaged. Later Die stages as can be seen by die rust and other deterioration, including hairline cracks running through the obverse legend (see top of OLUS III)

rust / stressed die + saltwater corrosion + cleaned? Certainly looks genuine.
