Hello Everyone,
Being new to collecting, I believe that I came across a 1971-S cent that is a double die cent. Looks too sharp for a hub strike. Like to get your thoughts from the forum.
Thanks,

Mechanical doubling.
FYI, when you make up terms like "hub strike", it makes you look like you are not serious about learning.
Agree with @IkesT
But you are looking in the right spot. Plus your pictures are great!

Great photos but they just highlight the Machine / Mechanical Doubling.
It is a strike double. Think of it like the die rattles a little bit when striking the coin leaving a doubling effect. It is very common on Lincolns from the 60's - 70's. A doubled die is the as the name states the die was carved twice not in alignment.
Thanks everyone for the knowledgeable feedback, I will try to use the correct terminology as I learn it on any future posts.
Thanks again
Great pics, welcome aboard!
We all need time to understand the process of minting. It's a learning experience. Don't be afraid to post a pic and just ask us for information. Just point out what you think you see and we'll respond. No problem.
Happy Thanksgiving!
