Is this a 1964 nickel struck on cent planchet?

Got my fingers crossed! I’m guessing the XRF has a little debris on it? I doubt it contains gold or silver haha. A second scale was reading 3.1g and this one 3.0. If struck on a cent planchet what’s the best route from here? Grading/Authentication? Seems something that’d be harder to sell raw but I’m not familiar with errors. Thanks for any help!

Very nice. I didn't have much hope when opening this thread, but there's no question on that one. It's the real deal.
It seems that everything is slabbed these days. Really, anyone who wants one of those should have the confidence to authenticate it themselves, slab or no. This is an obvious winner, congrats!
Like the gold content. You could mine that XRF assay result. That is 80 oz a ton.
Obviously genuine.
Obviously circulated.
No need to slab it.
Copper alloy. Smaller in diameter than a nickel. Weight and metal content of a copper cent. Strong metal flow along the peripheral lettering. No obvious signs if any post-mint distortion. All point to a genuine, nickel struck on copper cent planchet error.
To an expert, slabbing is not necessary for authentication purposes, as it is definitely a mint error. However, the market does seem to reward slabbed errors of this specific error type with a higher value than one that is raw. And with a quick review of prices realized for similar nickels on cent planchets, the premium of a slabbed example should outweigh the cost of submission.
Excellent score 👍
Super! The metal flow from the lettering and date is the giveaway.
I recently sold my slabbed nickel struck on a cent planchet for $400. I would get it slabbed.
Edit to fix a typo.

100% cool!
Where did you get it?

This definitely appears to be something worth the cost of certification. Congrats on a super find!

In what grade?
Yes, I would slab it. Leaves less doubt it's
authentic in a potential buyers mind if ever sell it.
Thanks everyone!
I don't collect error coins, but, if I did, I wouldn't touch one that was not certified/attributed (especially from an unknown seller based on photographs). I can only speak for me, but I suspect I'm not alone.

Great find. I happen to also have a 1964 D
3.05 grams
I like errors like these off-metal types.

Thank you. I wanted the OP to understand that that price did not apply to his coin because of the condition of it.
