Craig - Sorry for the LOL. I would have still given it a LOL if it was a pic of me. 😆
If you click on the Following marker on the left (as in Unfollowing) the Sports Talk section on the right disappears.
I did this a couple years back and then TheShow & I spent an hour trying to figure out what I did wrong lol.

I'm still confused as to why the top two sticky threads remain up there? When the moderator who started the two threads, as if we were in the first grade or something and didn't know how to start a thread, got let go from CU about a year ago. And the member to whom the thread is addressed, was banned some months ago. Also both threads are only relevant to past seasons.
But since the forum is free, I ain't complaining. 😆
I agree. Please change them from "announcements" to a regular thread.
I never understood why they were announcements. Seems Todd had a crush on DD. Why, I'll never understand.
You can click the gear and dismiss. I’m not saying it’s not weird how those are announcements.
Maybe they both share the same abnormal hate for Aaron Rodgers?
Yeah, but better that the Mods ignore us.
At the time Todd was doing the NFL countdown thing since we all talked about NFL before preseason even began, I thought it was a fun thing but since Todd is gone and DD decided to give up on his thousandth return and his funny Rodgers pics I don't see why they don't just erase them or turn them into a basic thread so they can fade away as they should

I've joined and posted on a number of forums since the advent of the internet. My viewpoint is the best moderators are those who you don't even notice they are there.
The current CU moderators are doing a pretty good job in my opinion. Although I think they closed the Caitlin threads here a bit too soon. But at least they still left the threads up for viewing.
After that, I actually started a Caitlin thread in the Trading Cards forum, trying to keep the conversation about card values. Mainly because I have been contemplating investing some serious money in her basketball cards. Received a good number of interesting replies and the thread is still active.
I'm scared to post in that one because I don't want to hear about how Clark wouldn't ever beat a guy in anything...
I would be sure you're thinking about investing in her cards because of her talent and not the hype surrounding her. Personally I’ve seen it before, her name was Jackie Stiles. Broke all the Kansas high school scoring records, then the women’s NCAA scoring record. Practiced too much and her body broke down. Have you heard of her?
I would suggest Bobby Witt Jr. rookie cards? Why? Because at age 24 he was the best defensive player in the game and the third best offensive player. How many players in history were the best offensively and defensively? Willie Mays perhaps?. Not many for sure. Bobby has a chance to do that.
And the great thing… he’s not hyped like Caitlin. Except by me. 🥳
That's excellent advice.
I explained my reasoning behind possibly investing in her cards in that thread, so I won't regurgitate it here. Suffice to say that if I bought her cards, I wouldn't mind for whatever reason caused the cards to rise in value. Might be a combination of factors you mentioned, or perhaps some unforeseen factors.
Frankly as of this point, I'm leaning more towards not investing any serious coin in Caitlin's cards. I think there may be better opportunities that are potentially more profitable and less risky.
The event three weeks ago changed my view on this. I think the cities that have been down and out, and degraded badly, now during at least the next four years will revitalize, and both the residents in these cities and surrounding suburbs will take a renewed pride in their cities once again.
I believe this will also translate into folks having more pride in their sports teams, and the collectibles associated with it. For example, it's well known and common knowledge that cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, and I could go on and on with names, for various reasons, have disintegrated badly in recent years. Starting in January with a new vigor, these cities will be bouncing back, hopefully strongly.
So the bottom line is what is a better investment and/or chance for a profitable flip in the future. A Caitlin Clark card or a vintage card of say Mickey Mantle? Right now I'm leaning towards the Mantle and other vintage cards.
