Hi Folks,

Please forgive me if it seems lazy asking about this coin w/respect to not doing enough research on my own. However, having done some internet searching as well as reading the descriptions in several ebay auction for this issue, I'm not clear on why this coin brings so much $.

The mintage/product limit was 12,500 - not too low. Were less minted/sold?

Thanks for any info. It is most appreciated.

Coin of the year award for both the '21, and '23 Libs if I'm not mistaken...
In my unprofessional opinion, I think that the '24 L&B Gold, and the FHG have a very good chance for a COY award to be issued in 2026 for 2024 coins...
I also view these COY awards like I view the Academy Awards...Who cares!?...

I remember this one quite well, was going to get one, was trying to justify the cost, had plenty of time- they were not screaming off the shelf. Nope, not an instant sellout, but at the time it was just a little too expensive for me. When I finally got off the fence and decided I wanted one, they were sold out. Then prices went North everywhere, people were saying it's the best design in years, and it won the Coin of the Year. The mint did not hang the SOLD OUT sign for over a year, they just had the REMIND ME sign up, so I periodically checked to no avail. The secondary market reflects a highly desirable coin price still. What do they say? Those grapes were probably sour anyway? All that's gold does not glitter? I'd rather look for a classic design?

I have wondered as well why this one specific coin has jumped so significantly while many of the other gold coins have had their premiums basically drop down to par themselves with the rising spot price of gold.

The 2020 gold eagle v75 coin surged in secondary market price after the initial surge because govmint bought a position of them (75?) to reholder with that special Donald Trump signature label. Since that offering, the pricing has dropped again on them. I’m wondering if a dealer is putting together a special label for the 2021 horse coin in a similar fashion causing a price spike?

And we thought the original price was outrageous.

    1madman posts,
"that special Donald Trump signature label. Since that offering, the pricing has dropped again on them"

Curious as to what they were going for back then?

I had been watching this one below @ GC that ended around 5 weeks ago.

$37,775.25 was the final price. Impressive!

    Perhaps prices for these(Trump signed v75)may be on the rise again because;
    1) Trump pulled off an unprecedented Grover Cleveland 2.0 bid.
    2) These coins(special label or not)don't come around as often anymore due to tight collector hands that do not wish to flip, but instead hold onto them?

Rick, the 75 coins sold from govmint for $60,000 each (iirc), so it was a bit of a haircut selling for $37,000. Prices have softened for these again. The intriguing thing about this Trump offering was taking 75 out of 1945 coins off the market is quite a chunk of the pop. The horse coin has a 12,500 mintage which is actually quite large in the scheme of things, and is worth about half of the v75 coin. Pricing doesn’t make sense.

    Thanks 1madman,
I did not know about the v75 60k price tag back then? Wow!

If FHG maintains 10,000 pcs, what will they look like in a couple of years?
