Does anyone know if this is an exact representation of this spot on the wall?

Seems to be, I checked a couple of names and they really are on the wall.

    Thanks for that link.

If that depiction on the coin is exactly how it appears on the wall, that is great! I'm wondering how or why the designer picked this spot on the wall and the names? Or was it just a random thing?

I'm also wondering if the family members of these service members know about this coin and their reaction to it. I sure would be proud if one of those names on that coin were my father, cousin, brother, uncle, grandfather or nephew!

Since the coin is 1994, family members must surely be aware of this coin by now.

😳 There is interest in an older modern commemorative?!

Seems to be, I checked a couple of names and they really are on the wall.

Also, the names I checked (Brian F. Carlquist, James R. Dragoti, Bernard J. Creed) all died on the same day - November 17, 1965.
I assume they must be sorted this way on the wall.

I do think that if you want a rubbing of a name they have people there to do it.

There are no rules about touching the wall.

They put the names in the order of their deaths rather than in alphabetical order because there are cases of two or three persons that have the same name and it would look strange to see the same name repeated two or three times together.

    Exhibits
As visitors walk along the memorial wall, they may move closer to the wall to find and touch the names of the more than 58,000 service men and women who gave their lives in the Vietnam conflict. There may be objects or tributes located on the ground in front the panels containing names.

    I really like the reverse!

I got drafted in June of 1972. At that point the ground war was drawing down so no new troops were being sent to Vietnam (if someone knows different let me know). Anyway I'm pretty sure the Army didn't know what to do with me. I got shuffled back and forth between NJ and VA; Ft. Dix, NJ to Ft. Myer, VA back to Ft. Dix, NJ and then finally to Ft. Story, VA. Never got more than four hundred miles from NY and did nothing more dangerous than riding a LARC (four wheel amphibious vehicle) on Chesapeake Bay.

Anyway, the reverse of this coin/medal displays a number of medals that were awarded during the war. One of my jobs during the time I was stationed at Ft. Myer was transposing the record of achievement from the official record onto the actual commendation. The commendation (landscape manila material) had an embossed color depiction of the medal on it (Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Silver Star, etc.). As a 19 year old kid I had no clue about the significance of these medals or the hardships endured earning them.

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

@OAKSTAR. I liked the coin so much I got this unc version from Ebay today. I visited DC a few years back and was able to trace the name of one of my brothers' classmates that did not return from the war. What a beautiful monument.
