Why is putting a mic in the face of a coach at the end of a game allowed?

Is there a contractual requirement to allow this to happen in college football? I'm pretty sure the coach is required to entertain the press hounds after the game, but I think stuffing a microphone in a coach's face after a win is disrespectful and at best, an annoyance. The coaches, especially in big upset games like the GA Tech and Ole Miss games, the latter being historic, just want to savor the moment and be with their team. The questions are pathetic at best, and add zero to the game or the results.

Dumping Gatorade in November is dumb as well.
I'd agree that the interview may be required by contract, or at the very least expected.
I think interviews are part of their contract, remember when Marshaun Lynch and his ridiculous "I'm just here so I don't get fined" schtick?
Reporters are annoying with their stupid questions for sure.
Like it's real funny when they ask them at half time what adjustments they are going to make lol

A microphone seems ok as long as you're not getting trampled by 50,000 delirious students or about to get flattened by collapsing goalposts. I think some of these guys have had to rewrite their life insurance policies.
Enjoy the go.
When said coach is the highest paid government official in the state and making millions of dollars per year, asking them to answer questions about the job in which they are so exorbitantly paid should be expected.
I do not have time for ignorant trolls.

Oprah is available for one million dollars per interview. 😆
I dont see a problem with coach interviews at halftime or after the game. the ones that i dont like are when they interview baseball managers in the middle of an inning.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
