Always wondered when this became an accepted practice. Any idea? I don't recall Namath,Unitas,Tittle,Stabler,Fouts sliding. The old guard took their licks. But it's an understandable practice now with the $ invested in the QB.

Hey now, you are talking about a player who rushed for over 1000 yards here!
of course, it took him 23 years to get those yards...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Or you can be like Tua and dive head first into defenders
I just looked it up and it seems that the slide rule was first implemented in 1985. I had no idea it was that old and I certainly dont remember many guys sliding back in the 80s-90s. could just be my memory
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
i was about to make a joke about the way jim would do the wobble topple fall but ive just learned he tragically died in a fall a few years back
art imitates life............. in this case it predicted the future
Thanks for the info. That answers my question.
The best is when teams either hire a baseball player or bring in slip n slides to try and teach the QBs how to slide
Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007
they should practice with slip and slides
Is it too soon to mention baby oil?
