Best half box of halves I've seen in a long time!

KurisuKurisu Posts: 1,994 ✭✭✭✭✭

Chase told me they only had about half a box of halves today...27 rolls.
No complaints!!!

It looks like more coins from an estate got dumped quickly by heirs that had no use for those half dollars!

I can smell the silver from here! It's like hitting the lottery. I bet your heart skipped a few beats! It takes your breath away, doesn't it? 👍 👍

It's even more amazing to me when it's not customer rolls...these were all Loomis rolls!

I thought there may have been some talk around here at one time, that these coin rolling companies may have had some type of mechanism or silver detecting devices pulling silver out. I guess not.

No idea if any locations have actually done that.
But Loomis rolls utterly dominate the Denver metro area banks and they are sometimes hot and sometimes not. But I notice no real change (pun) in results over the years.

Yes, Loomis seems to dominate here on the east coast as well. Here are a few different type rolls I've gotten from banks over the years...... Including mint rolls!

Roll hunting is a thing of the past for me. I recently tried to buy a box of dimes and was told my bank that they no longer sell boxes of coins. New policy. Costs the bank too much I'm told. Only businesses are allowed to purchase the boxes. I'm thinking the real reason is my checking account isn't fat enough for them. Be interesting when I hit the lottery and deposit a few mill with them if they will change their policy for me.

Nothing but 2023-P in my four weekly boxes for the past three months. I can't wait for mixed dates to show up again.

Some kid probably cleaned out his grandpas desk drawer of half dollars. Not statistically possible to find that much silver in half rolls unless some rube turned in someone stash for beer money.

Furthermore, they all look very nice and quite similar as if they came from a collection. Congrats on the nice score!

Any day now I'll be hitting the lottery. That's the direction I'm going. I like my bank and they will like me even more than they presently do when i deposit my lottery winnings with them and then ask for four $250 boxes of dimes.

Well, I did finally search a box of Kennedy halves that I had laying around for a year or so and I'm in awe at what I found. A !952 and 1953 PR Franklin, numerous toned Franklins, toned '65-'69 Kenndy halves and toned '64 Kennedy halves. All in total, about 20 coins. The best finds of my days of halve searching for sure.

In Florida I get three types of machine rolls, Loomis, String & Son, and blank. It varies by bank even sometimes. CWRs are the best, but they are rare. Of the machine rolls, usually the Loomis ones are the best .
