Opinion that one member of every playoff team, would rather be done for the season and on a golf course. You just hope that it isn't a key performer.

Playoff teams no, they get bonuses for being in the playoffs. Some guys may go through the motions if youre on the White Sox or something like that but no one is tanking it. Their next contract is on the line

There was a catcher in the Twins minor leagues at the A ball level that was cut and will never get signed again for telling batters what pitches were coming. He wanted the season to end and ended what ever potential career he could have had

Tigers Bill Freehan famously tipped off Mickey Mantle to the next Denny McClain pitch. Mick slammed it into the seats. Joe Pepitone requested the same courtesy. No deal.
