My friend recently bought this, but we can’t figure out how to verify the cert…
Any ideas?

Stupid/obvious question. Does the bar code scan?
It scans but as the wrong coin. It scans as if it was Cert# 1103104, which is a 1934-D Walker in 64.
You may need to contact them. I believe the same thing happens with some of the Shipwreck coinage.

Could this be the problem? Instead of 1103104, try 1003104.
FWIW, I found this post in an old thread.
It matches what @SONOMOSCA did.
I could not get it to scan nor my friend who owns it.

And I tried punching in the number alone, and then punching in with the letters, and it still didn’t give me anything…

Interesting you change that number, and it does bring it up correctly…
Thank you, everybody!

Nice coin, that was one of the first Wells Fargo 1908 NM's graded and has the classic OGH holder.

Looks like the mystery was solved over 12 years ago.
I haven't seen that post, just figured PCGS made an error and spent a few minutes playing with cert #'s.
That's a lovely Saint!

Trippin’ down memory lane. I had one of those; always wondered why they had a different numbering system that didn’t line up with the lookup. Guessing the “W” & “F” at the beginning & end was for Wells Fargo. Duh
