It’s reading 00 dollars and 00 cents. How come you don’t have any coins in it yet?

Saw something similar at the coin shop decades ago, but it did not have the key to open it. There were a few coins in it. We could not agree on a price with the owner.

I haven't used it in decades. It's just a nostalgia piece that I have with some others. Originally got it as a 4 y.o.

When you received it decades ago as a youngster, was it brand new?

Negative. When it was new it was given to my mom's cousin, probably around 1935 or so. It's definitely weathered the storm.

    We all have brother.

Had a red one. Lost to time. IIRC there was a slot in the back where one could use a butter knife to fish out the coins. Could you show the back of the bank?

I had a metallic blue one. I filled it full and found out the sprung front door opened in and all the coins were in the way. Kid problem!

Nice to see they were ahead of their time using USB power. :D

    Beat me to it.

I find the old stuff quite fascinating. When I find these sort of things they always seem a bit on the high side, or perhaps I don't know the market.

Here you go, my friend. By the way, there's no way to open it. Gotta wait until you amass 10 clams before the door unlocks.

    Thanks for the photo.
