Check out this beautiful brand new MS68 top pop- the previous top pop is only an MS67, so this coin skipped the "+" and went straight to MS68! Truly a flawless clad Kennedy, with pretty color as well. This coin is fresh to market, being sold for the first time- don't miss it on GreatCollections, ending this Sunday 10/27! Link below.

Very nice! That coin makes me long for the days when I had one of the top Kennedy half Registry Sets.
Thanks Braddick. Of course, it had my name written all over it!
Thanks OP for heads up on this auction.

Thank you for your bids! (And thanks to @braddick for the assist!)
Chromaticcoins.
Would you kindly send me a P.M. letting me know the history on this condition rarity. I’ve never been able to find a better coin than an MS67 in my 43 years on the hunt for this coin! I’d love for you to tell me you bought it in a 2x2 at the “xyz show” for $5!!

I’d be curious as well, if @chromaticcoins would be kind enough to share in this thread.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Chromaticcoins shared with me the details of his incredible acquisition. I have no issue with him sharing it here as well if he desires.

Chromaticcoins: I’ve been asked by a few board members here to share the origin story of this fabulous coin. I typically do not reveal the contents of private P.M.’s without the permission of the other party. I trust it is ok to talk about the history surrounding my 1973-P coin?

Early stage Dansco album toning?

Well . . . . I am certainly hanging on the edge of my seat . . . . .the story could be well worth the wait!
‘’Early stage Dansco album toning?’’
DrewU: Hearsay on my part, but you nailed it!
A raw purchase of a complete Kennedy set in Dansco album(s). I understand that most of the clad was average mid-MS at best, but this “beautiful” coin “about jump[ed] out of the page”. I am told it graded MS67+ on the regular line at PCGS, and then went for show grade at the Long Beach Expo in September where it graded the (nearly) unheard of grade of MS68. Then, straight to auction.
In the final analysis (my opinion here), the OP bought a mega rarity of an early date MS Clad Kennedy Half Dollar for a few dollars and after 2 grading fees turned it into a coin worth in excess of 1000x more than he paid for it raw! And all because the OP knew the rarity of this modern clad coin in super high grade. For me, my 43 year search for this coin above the MS67 grade has come to an end. I will likely never improve upon the quality and grade of this dated MS Kennedy Half in my lifetime.
IMHO, this coin is about as rare as some of those finest known late date MS Walkers that command upwards of $100,000.00. Only problem is just myself, “CladKing” and a handful of other Clad enthusiasts believe this to be reality as opposed to utter fantasy. 🤣
Just my two cents.

A very special thanks to Zircon Cases (now on eBay). The owner of Zircon read about my acquisition of this beautiful and rare Kennedy Half Dollar and presented me with a courtesy special Zircon case to house the coin! Thank you again Zircon!
