1964 Kennedy crying

Hi, guys. I’ve seen just a couple of coins like this. Is this a recognized error or just a run of the mill 64 with pmd? Thanks

Can you show the others? Unless they are exactly the same, it's probably PMD.

It looks like a contact mark to me, say while being bagged for shipment, jmo

Pmd is more like it, just saying

  • Thanks guys. That was my thought as well. A collector/dealer buddy thought it was a die chip, so I thought I’d ask.

If it was a die chip, it would be raised. Those marks are incuse caused by damage.

A die chip would be raised. Those look incused (not counting the ridge of displaced metal).

My first thought from the original picture was a reed hit but it could have been anything.
