A well used PCGS cert number for a couple of counterfeits

Found the following for sale on-line and noted how bad both it and the holder are. Bar code doesn’t scan, no PCGS logo in the front lower right corner of the slab (like many we have seen from the CN distributor) and the coin looks like a Gallery Mint knock-off.

The PCGS cert has the typical lack of images, but the description is for an XF45 1794 HALF DOLLAR! Searching the internet I found the genuine example for this cert number.

And running through my archive of images I found the 2nd counterfeit to use this cert number. This one is actually based on a genuine 1795 half dollar, as documented in my past Coin Week article on the bad halves.

Will be interesting to see what next bad “coin” the counterfeiters will add to this cert, unless the number should be “retired”…
