If this is 28.6 grams of pure gold, then it is less than an ounce.

I’ve had multiple positive experiences selling scrap gold to Midwest Refineries.

Gold is measured in Troy ounces. 31.1 grams = 1 Troy ounce.

A few weeks ago I was kind of offered the same deal at a local gas station. A guy approached and stated he need money for gas to get home. He offered to sell his gold chain for $40. as it was an emergency. Of course I bought it.
    Was that a good deal?
