I just noticed this...take a look at Carlton Fisk in the last pic bottom right...I think that he has my flannel...I can guarantee that there's a Can in his top left pocket...
🤣🙃🤣🙃

That star on the base is cool. I'm not sure I've ever been aware that they did that in the 70s era. They do crazy things with bases all of the time now, but I don't ever think I've seen a photograph of the base from an All-Star Game with the star on it.
I was trying to find other pics of the bases from All-Star Games from the 70s. This one is apparently a screenshot of the TV broadcast of the 1971 All-Star Game with Bench rounding 3rd on a homerun.
Notice the base design.
I can't tell you how many times that I watched a recap of the 71 All-Star Game during rain delays on the Royals TV broadcasts of the 80s, and never noticed that. It was in heavy rotation along with Game 6 of the 1975 World Series, the 70 All-Star Game, Reggie hitting 3 homeruns vs the Dodgers, the Brooks Robinson vacuum cleaner game, and a few others like the 69 and 79 World Series clinchers. I guess I just never knew MLB was breaking out of their stodginess with colorful bases, already, back then.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I am a latecomer to this thread, but I LOVE all the old images.
Isnt it crazy how old the players looked back then compared to similarly aged people today.
