Rare "no mintmark" example may actually be extra "clean" due to toilet paper (eBay)

I guess even after eBay fees, it'll still yield a pretty good profit....

Well at that $650 price for a 1942 circ cent, it is a piece of ... ... history.

  • Heh, hopefully that coin didn't just pop out onto the TP.

What are eBay's options to stop this abuse to unwary buyers? Hiring spotters who can grade and price coins would be costly. Having a program AI system might work. Or....if there are people/buyers out there who are so uneducated on the value and grades of coins, turn a blind eye and let them live and learn.

The coin is properly described, other than the "rare" part. EBay should stay out of it. The last thing i want us ebay pricing my items. Perhaps they would decide that toners should not carry a premium.

    Something 'smelly' about this one!

Noticed there are quite a few more of the 1942 'no mintmark' cent listed on ebay. !!!! I'll wait for it to be listed in the next Cherrypicker's guide....
