Hurricane damage

My wife and I planned a vacation around this show with a drive up to Ashville, NC. Needless to say we had to cancel because of the Hurricane damage. It's really unbelievable how bad things look. Hears hoping the people affected can recover their lives.

Mt granddaughter lives in Baker, Florida - about 25 miles from the coast in the panhandle. They got a lot of rain and strong winds, but not too much damage. The real damage seems to have been worse further inland. Weird!
In case anyone misinterprets this thread, while Asheville got destroyed, the Greenville Convention Center is fine and the SCNA show will proceed as scheduled at the end of October.

Greenville is fine and as stated above, the show will go on. I would hold off visiting Asheville for quite a while. Some of the great areas to visit are completely gone, like the River Arts District with many galleries and great restaurants.
The structures remaining will probably not have city water for another few weeks. It is really hard to fathom the amount of damage to the mountains from this. Many roads are still impassible and the debris will take months to remove.
You are correct, I did not mean to mislead anyone.
You can edit the title of your thread to delete the Greenville reference.

As a deplorable Floridian I’ve lived through entirely too many over the last 40 years. This just sucks on so many levels, for so many good people. Sending my most heartfelt prayers and love to those affected.
Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

Erwin, Tennessee suffered much the same. Mules are being used to deliver
supplies and medicine to some areas. @erwindoc went through a very dangerous
portion of the storm. Very fortunate that he is still with us.
When is the show? I will have to find another way to get there if I decide to go. I-26 is not open on my side of the mountain. I imagine that some of the mountain roads are available, and hopefully by later October, portions of 26 will be open.
