With all due respect, why? At this stage, the risk seems to be all yours.

Yes, I agree that your price seems to be very conservative, leaving little room for you to get hurt. The actual secondary market bid for a sealed box, once they sell out, is likely to be around 2x what you are offering, if not more.

OTOH, there is no such thing as "locked" until people start getting through at noon on the 15th. At that point, a market will develop, on eBay and through the Big Boys. No way anyone on these boards will be unaware.

If it turns out to be below $150, delivered, you will be on the hook. If it's above, "locked, for worse," will turn into "sorry, I got shut out," as plenty of people will surely find themselves shut out, and your "locked" customers who are lucky enough to score one or more take their medals elsewhere.

I'm sorry, but this just seems very premature, with the risk all yours, in an effort to "lock" people into bad deals that few if any will actually honor if this turns into the frenzy many anticipate, and the market explodes. Moreover, even if the market fails to ignite, it is unlikely that $150, delivered, is going to spark a lot of interest, given the HHL of 1, the fact that a casual collector is likely to have to pay the Mint $6 to ship, and then at least that much to reship to you.

A whole lotta work, given the likely difficulty of getting through on the 15th, to hopefully clear a whopping $30 from you. Bottom line -- if you can actually buy them at $150, delivered, you'll be able to get them in quantity from the Mint on 10/16 for $104, delivered.

Otherwise, you aren't even close, and will only be successful if these fall flat. Which they won't, and at which point your offer will no longer be valid. You can only lose, if people bite now, and stick you if these end up sucking. All you are doing is giving people a free option that will only be exercised against you.

    So, again, why?

How much are you paying for the time in the waiting room?

Apparently $150, medal included in a sealed box, lottery ticket intact, with the seller paying for two way shipping.

Including the time spent in the waiting room, plus time and net of the IRS mileage allowance to bring the sealed box to the post office for shipping, maybe around $10 per hour.

What's the minimum wage nowadays, and how much could I net spending the time working the counter at McDonald's, rather than banging away at my keyboard on spec hoping to score a win "locking in" this deal? 🤣

Guys, it’s better to take these discussions elsewhere. Leave his WTB ad alone.

Sorry. I started out genuinely curious as to why it was posted so early, when the OP had nothing but risk. Then, the more I thought about it, I realized that the risk was truly minimal, and what the OP was actually trying to do.

But so is the upside, given the microscopic chance that anyone will actually follow through, notwithstanding being "locked," unless something crazy happens and no one wants sealed boxes.

So, with all due respect, this is not a "true" BST thread, given the timing and the price offered, and I happen to think it's as ripe for discussion as anything else on these boards.

The conversation is nothing if not on topic, and the OP is free to respond. Or not. As is anyone who wants to send a PM and get themselves "locked in."

Given the sophistication of pretty much everyone participating in the forum, it is HIGHLY unlikely anyone stumbling onto this thread is unfamiliar with the product, or will be swayed one way or the other by anything being said if they want to accept one of the OP's free options. If anything, if the discussion continues, it will simply spare the OP from periodic TTT posts to keep the thread on the first page. 😀

These threads won't actually mean anything until the product hits the market, and people actually have confirmed orders they can use to "lock in" with buyers. At which time a market price will be established. Likely far higher than $30 above a buyer's cost of acquisition and shipping, unless demand is light and it doesn't sell out by 12:05 on Day 2. In which case there won't be any WTB offers at all. Including from the OP.
