Getting "Freebies" in ebay transactions?

Hello Everyone... Among the last few transactions I made on ebay a few months ago, I was sent these free coins along with my purchase as an "appreciation" for my patronage. I've gotten some of these in the past, like AG 1900's IHC's or Dateless Buffalo Nickels. I recently received these. They're only about a 0.1 gram "off" ,weight-wise, for a clad coin... edited to add... Oh! and they were sent as uncertified Proofs.

Well within tolerance for normal planchet weight, if that was

Nice gesture from the seller.

I like the little bonuses sellers toss in.
That's really nice of the seller to do that, it says alot 🙂
On occasion I’ll include an AI dollar as a small bonus, or wrap the coin in a canvas mint bag or an Intercept Shield pouch. I also like to include a handwritten note. I am a small time seller and most are from my personal collection, so it’s not a big deal, but personalizes the sale a bit. Easy way to support fellow hobbyists IMO.
A LONG time ago in eBay’s early days, a seller surprised me with a PCGS certified capped bust quarter, VF30 if I remember correctly (I sold the coin years ago). This was back when you had a send a money order in the mail for payment, and we were corresponding in the meantime and I told him I was a young newer collector. I will never forget that generosity.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
That is a nice gesture.
I thought it was a very nice gesture as well. I don't collect Moderns and my initial thought was:... "are these even real?!" lol!! After I looked them up on Coinfacts, it became apparent that they're not worth getting certified, but they're beautiful nonetheless! It also presented a chance to play with lighting in my photo set up a little. These are the first DCAM coins I've ever really had the opportunity to image. Not the typical freebie, for sure!

People just weigh everything now. Smh...
I have 60 to 120 sales a day on ebay and love dumping random coins in the packages. Easy way to get rid of cheap coins that I dont want to end up having volume of.
Very thoughtful. A plus for buyer and seller.
