Thinking about you guys in the path of the hurricane. Sounds potentially terrible. Please be safe, make good decisions and we all are praying for the best.
Coin related…. Silver is doing great!

Yes, they'll be in some prayers here for sure. Be safe all 🙏
I'm in Tampa. The wind is picking up a little but looks like were going to miss the full effect of the storm. The coastal area's north of Tampa are in for a pretty big hit from the storm surges and once again people who choose to live in area's that are 1 foot elevation above sea level will suffer the most. Some people never learn.

peak storm surge is around 945 tonight in Tampa. Looks like 7 foot...
Ok here in Melbourne on the East coast, just gusty with a few light passing showers.
Prayers for the West coast and panhandle folks!
Thanks!

Anyone worried about there coins across the street down there? Although, the storm has pretty much past them now.

NGC is far enough inland that storm surge is not a concern, and it hasn’t rained enough here for freshwater flooding. I was concerned about a few packages I shipped yesterday, because my USPS DC is waterfront on a Tampa Bay waterway, but I noticed in the tracking that they sent them all to Orlando this morning (not typical), which I was happy to see, especially now as we are getting significant storm surge flooding in Tampa currently.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Thanks for that feedback @P0CKETCHANGE!

My family is taking cover at our church right now. We left because we were worried about wind speed potential and rotten trees. The wind is literally roaring outside. It is hardly even raining though. Our house is only 30 miles or so from the eye. We have friends who are even closer, and their houses are literally being destroyed right now. Keep us in your prayers.

@CRHer700 let is know that you are okay. That was a very rough area to be in. I hope your home has minimal damage.

We.are back home now, and everything is alright, unlike so many others in the area. Our power is out, as are all but 350 people in our county. It could be over a week until it is back. We only received 3 inches of rain, so flooding isn't an issue like last time. We had to go through our neighbor's yard to get home because our driveway was blocked. Almost all the major roads are blocked here. Except 75 and 27.

Hopefully everyone else is staying safe as well; looks like it’s causing heavy rain and flooding over much of the eastern US.
NGC was closed yesterday; hopefully employees and those on the boards that were hit with flooding, etc. get all the help they need.
The coastal communities of Cedar Key and Steinhatchee have been pretty much completely destroyed from the storm. Cedar Key has almost nothing but foundations and the random board left.

There's so much destruction in TN, KY and NC especially western NC. As of this writing there's no way in or out of Asheville, NC unless you have access to a helicopter. I can't begin to imagine losing everything, shaking my head. God bless all those affected. Before and after images of Chimney Rock, NC pictured below.
Worried about forum member @erwindoc.
I messaged him this morning to check on him, then later saw this on the news; I’m fairly certain this is his hospital!
_ The Nolichucky River near the North Carolina border came close to sweeping away Unicoi County Hospital in Erwin, Tennessee. Rising waters forced 54 hospital staffers and patients to head for the roof to whisked away aboard helicopters and boats. _
So please send prayers!
Anyone hear from @ashland? He's in Asheville. I haven't heard from my friend who has a coin shop in Asheville.

Thanks everyone! My hometown is a wreck. The river flooded to historic levels never seen before. Anything near the river was destroyed. This includes homes, churches, businesses the portion of intestate 26 and several bridges. My business is downtown and was spared along with my employees and their families. Several businesses near the river have missing employees, presumably dead. For a small town, this is devastating. It happened so fast that few people were able to escape and others had to be rescued from their roof.
How horrible! Prayers for all!
Obviously the Southern Appalachians helped in squeezing out biblical amounts of rain in 2 days or so.
A video on You Tube shows the destruction. to and along I-26 in Erwin. I’m from Bakersville, NC, over the border. I cannot contact anyone. The news folk can’t get near to break the news.
The railroad companies list locations of damage to tracks. One location nearby, Busick, got thirty inches.
Glad to hear that you’re okay.
I messaged @ashland, I haven't heard from him.
Asked him to reply here.
I messaged @justindan yesterday who lives in western NC to see how he's doing and I haven't heard back from him. I hope he's okay.

He might have lost cell service, electricity, cable. I messaged
@lordmarcovan and asked about Ashland.
We lost those services for about 18 hours. We live 20 miles from
Erwin, Tn. The town was devastated. The I-26 between Johnson
City and Ashville was washed away in a few places. No traffic
for the foreseeable future. It's like someone took their hand
and wiped the whole area off the map.
I just got a message from Justin. He's okay and in good spirits even though his farm suffered some damage. He said they got more than 20" of rain.

I messaged with Michael who owns the coin shop where Ashland works. They lost power for 30 hours and communication has been spotty at best.

My prayers out to all!
My sister lives near Orlando. Called her Saturday. No problems at all.
I live in eastern Virginia and lost internet, WIFI and phone service for two days.
Asheville was washed out in more than a few places. They’ve got Katrina-level destruction there, and Buncombe County (of which Asheville is the county seat) accounts for around 1/3 of the death toll from this storm. It is their worst natural disaster in living memory- perhaps ever- and worse than their Great Flood of 1916.
I believe President Biden will visit them soon.
@asheland and @aethelred are, thankfully, OK.
I’m happy to report that I’ve got power and water again down here, but we’re still in recovery here in the Golden Isles of Georgia.
The damage to this area is unreal! I am so glad to be back online. Everything is OK and everyone I know personally has been fine. If anybody I know has been affected by this. I haven’t heard yet so far everybody’s been excellent!

Melbourne had some rain but nothing to speak of. I was shocked about the devastation in NC.
