Have you ever pawned numismatic coins? What happened?

Watching an old episode of Pawn Stars today. One of the shills brought in a Fugio Cent.
For legal reasons, virtually all of the deals on the show are outright buys.
Just wondering what happened when you brought in some non bullion stuff to pawn.
(got a feeling that this thread will start off slow and then snowball by tomorrow.)

!991. My wife was in hospital. Three different peri-natalogists said they didn't know what to do a fourth suggested a treatment, but it was Friday afternoon. I was told to bring $879.00 dollars (no credit cards for hospitals then), and we could try an experimental treatment insurance would not cover. Money had to be there before noon Saturday.
6AM i was in the parking lot of the pawn shop on 10th street in Sioux Falls South Dakota. I had my three fourth finished Standing liberty coin collection in hand. Dude looked at me like I must of stole it. He spent about 5 minutes asking questions like; "what do you grade your 1919-s?" (had to tell him I didn't have one). i just started listing by date and grade each coin. He stopped me at 1918-D and said that was enough.
We spent about half an hour with him taking out a coin, grading it, then writing down a price.
When he hit $1,200 on his paper I stopped him. 10 minutes later i was out the door. Bet he wondered what that was all about for a few days. (Or maybe not, maybe that happens everyday at one of those places.) James
Seems that the pawn guy was more useful than the doctors.
Maybe. Dr. Johnson, the on site Peri natal said he had no idea if the medication helped but my wife did stop bleeding and survived. But then he also said she could have saved herself for all we will ever know. James
