Corbin Carroll scores runs

Corbin Carroll has scored 117 runs so far this season -- and he still has another week to score more. In modern-day baseball, few players ever score that many runs in one year.
Scoring runs has always been the goal in baseball -- the team that scores the most runs wins the game. Corbin Carroll (even in a year like this when his average is a lousy .230) is a great player. Go Corbin go!

Respectable journeyman with decent power.
Had to look up his team. Hell, they are my home team.

Wow Doc, you are quite the home-town fan! Corbin was Rookie-Of-The-Year last year! Do you ever watch your home town?
No.
I have given up professional sports for deafening rock concerts. Billy Idol and Alice Cooper this summer. Maybe ZZ Top in the Fall.
Interesting. I always liked Alice Cooper -- was a big fan of his back-in-the-day. He was a great rock star, but he couldn't hit a fastball. ;-)
You should check out Corbin Carroll. He's a good player, he's fun to watch (very fast runner), and he seems like a very decent human being (he almost never argues with an umpire). I've read that he comes from a very nice family (two caring parents, and a very athletic sister). I like to root for "good guys".
Ketel Marte knocks him in. Top 3 for MVP.
Gobble.
Othani should win it. Lindor is likely number 2. Marte could get 3rd but Ozuna and Harper will get votes as well so who knows how that will turn out
Missouri 14 OSU 3
An interesting nexus between the concerts and MLB. Both use a clock, albeit in a different manner.
Inquired about the "schedule" ahead of the Billy Idol Show. It was literally scheduled to the minute. Opener would come on at 7:30 and run until 8PM. Idol would begin at 8:30 and run until ten. I'll be damned, even with the encore, they were within 2 minutes on each count.
Of course that was different a pile of decades earlier. Show could start in a hour or two window and run for 3 or more hours.
Kind of like it now, though the spontaneity is lost.
Well, I guess this "concert stuff" is a bit off the topic [although the dictionary says score can mean "the copy of a musical composition in written or printed notation"]. ;-)
But, back to the original topic, does anybody else have any thoughts regarding Corbin Carroll?
Sure. Where was Corbin yesterday when The Crew stormed back from 8-zip?
In all seriousness, he's the main cog in the wheel along with Marte. A great 1-2 punch. His manager seems to have lost confidence in him lately, though. If the Snakes get in the tournament, expect those dudes to do their thing.
Gobble.
Corbin was given a rare day-off yesterday.
I can't imagine that his manager has lost any confidence in him. Corbin has had a great second half, including the NL Player of the Month for August. I'm hoping that the Snakes get in the tournament, but it's getting a little "iffy" now.

I repeated what I thought I'd heard from the D-Backs announcers on one of their broadcasts. Perhaps they were being tough on him because of some of his diminished stats compared to last season.
Gobble.
Corbin Carroll's girlfriend is Miss America. Way to go, Corbin!

Player, indeed!
Gobble.
He's got good hitters behind him is all it means.
Runs scored and RBI are among the least worthwhile stats to look at in assessing player talent.
I do not have time for ignorant trolls.

Please, yes please, enlighten us with an explanation of the most worthwhile stats to assess player talent.
120 runs scored after Corbin's lead-off homer tonight!!
