Do you own a coin graded by pcgs or raw that you think would earn a star and why?

Pictures would make this thread more interesting and educational in my opinion.

"Earn a star" as in if it were submitted/crossed over to NGC?

I think they all should earn a star. ;)

Seems the star is an NGC thing

It definetly is part of the NGC grading process.

I was just thinking that many collectors here have coins that would get a star for one reason or another. I'd enjoy seeing some of them.
If nobody wants to respond or doesn't think it's a good topic then we can just let the thread fade away.

I think it is a reasonable topic and the question is fair. I don’t have images of any of the NGC stars I have made to post. I suspect others have images and will share.

I think this one would. It has a CAC sticker already. It’s a 66+.

    These two have a chance.

    And so does this Lincoln.

Why? Because it has a dark yet colorful patina. It surprises you with its color.

This one made it into a star slab.

    ^ Oh, the “why” part:

1813 - A remarkable coin in every respect, it’s stupid nice for the grade. I believe the wear is mostly from being taken in and out of a paper flip as opposed to circulation because it has the surfaces and luster of an AU.

1944-S: Not too many Jefferson nickels with target toning that vibrant, seems star-worthy to me.

1922: Looks even better in-hand with strong luster, I’ve never seen one quite like it and I think it would be a good contender for a star because of the color.

The 44-S has my kind of perepheral toning but not my kind of strike...hair details look weak in photo so no star or plus nor grade above MS65 for me either but that's me.

After further study of the coin, not as marky as I first stated and perhaps more lustrous than I previously stated.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
