Hoe much do you think this coin is worth? Worth getting graded?

My guess is XF45.
PCGS Price Guide is $175

EF at best, but hard to know exactly. If you were looking to sell it GC has an option for raw coins, they'll get the coin graded and sold for you with very fair rates.
I think the coin’s a low-end AU, worth (edited) approximately $200.
Here’s a PCGS AU50 that brought $312 at auction in July:

XF 40. With the marks, facial abrasions can’t see it worth above that. Has it been cleaned recently? Will back off XF details for now…..I asked Monique she says cleaned plus doesn’t like “the scratch coming down eye across face.”
AU'ish details yet probably net graded to XF45 (baking soda cleaning along with the mark on the portrait...).

Tough date for a Morgan completist. I'd get it graded - always with the "Details (Cleaned) Concern".
Maybe go Economy with this one?

Who's Monique ?
My assistant. Runs table when I am away looking for deals. Plus good security person. X Military police (European country). Can take an attacker down with one kick. Catches on real quick.
Then who's Frencesca?

It’s circulated probably a low-end AU. Maybe 50 or 53. I’d send it in. It’s worth a shot at a straight grade.

Thanks for all the comments.
I’d be concerned with obverse rim hit @ 8:30.
Looks detailed XF45. Rim hit and scratch across face. Nice album coin. Agree $175 sounds reasonable.
XF45 details, probably cleaned with excessive marks for the grade. Not worth grading.
Tough crowd. Lol! 45 is just above the halfway point to 70, so it ought to be an average coin, which I feel it is. Considering it's been in circulation, I fully expect marks and scratches. Just like pocket change today, I doubt everyone folded it up in a handkerchief and carried it around like that until buying something. It banged against other coins and was tossed into cash register bins. If it were an 1884-CC instead of an 1884-S, I'd buy it right now, as long as it wouldn't get the dreaded "cleaned" designation.

I don't think that coin will get a straight grade with the dig on the obverse rim.

I wouldn't bother getting it graded. If it were mine I would list it in the BST for $150. Someone will want it.

I see it as an album coin. I would consider grading if I were selling it.

I do not think that it will straight grade.
