The Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday approved a change to market rules that would cause the prices of many stocks to be quoted in increments of $0.005. LOL.
The half cent was the smallest denomination of United States coin ever minted. It was first minted in 1793 and last minted in 1857. It was minted with five different designs that were 100% copper and a little smaller than a quarter.
This is a great time for you to post a few of your favorites, as we don't see very many of these

True, but the smallest coin in terms of purchasing power is today's cent. It takes about 16 of them to equal the purchasing power of a single half cent in the 19th century.
Half-cent stamps were available from the post office for most of the 20th century, but I believe the first ones were printed well after half-cent coins were discontinued.
If I had thought about it at the time, it would have been fun to purchase one half-cent stamp, give the clerk one cent, and ask for change.

Your change would have been a second half cent stamp.

Bring back the Half Cent for circulation at the 1857 weight!
Actually, if they did do that and issue it as a collectible like the 2021 etc Peace and Morgan Dollars, at similar to original mintages it could be a money maker for the mint if done right.

It would have been cool to have a 1/2c stamp!

Creative thinking so it will never happen at the mint.
I'd like to see them make the half cents for just the collector, fwiw 💪
