One person is dead and another wounded after a fight at a Detroit Lions tailgate party led to shots fired on Sunday afternoon around 4:30.
WXYZ noted the incident occurred “in the area of Shed 6 in Eastern Market.”
The Detroit Free Press reported that two people were squaring up, purportedly to fight each other, when one of those individuals allegedly pulled a gun and killed the other man.
The deceased man is in his 40s and a second man, injured in the shooting, is in his 20s.
Detroit Police Chief James White commented on the incident, “This is ridiculous. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”
White added, “Tailgating, drinking, guns, they don’t mix. It’s a beautiful day. It shouldn’t have led to this.

2nd person dies after shooting at Eastern Market’s Detroit Lions tailgate
Awful
Man, that is terrible.
honestly, I opened the thread thinking you were talking about following other cars too closely.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I love going to NFL games. We had season tickets for 23 years. Some of the greatest memories with my father. With all that goes on inside and outside the stadium I’m happy with my big screen and the NFL package
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.

Left out the drugs.
Believe that Lions, Wings, Pistons and Tigers all play within the city limits.
Great as is coincides with the laundry, but not the safest place to be hanging out.
Sadly this is nothing new. There was a Nationals fan who had his skull literally bashed in with a bat outside the stadium, a Giants fan was stabbed by gang members outside of Dodger stadium just to name a few. Even with in the stadiums just look at how many fist fights and brawls happen where a decent percentage end up with someone knocked out

I'm not familiar with Detroit, is this at the stadium where the Lions play?
Yes. Ford Field.
Eastern Market is a mile away which seems a good distance for a tailgate party.
Thanks Doc.
