Peru 1/2 Real Date?

I bought this one as a space filler. It was sold as a 55 but I think that it's a 3/2 over date with M ligature. L05-53.

What say ye?

Edit While I have it out here's another look at the 1757 1 Real.

Peace

Looks like a 1753 over 2 L-05-53a. Would be uncommon the L05-53 is a rarity 4 with no MA ligature. There seems to be no known 1755's with an overdate.

I am now 100% sure it is the 3 over 2 the 1755 has Arabic 5's your 5 is not that I mean the one beside the 3 over 2.

That 1757 is amazing you will not come by many coins that look like that of even more ''common'' dates. Finding the rarer dates in this type of grade will be next to impossible. Not impossible for some dates but not most that is for sure. Especially WCC & SimonW have been at this for years or more and they have set those high grades into their long term collections. Although some may exist out there in the wild.

    That’s a ‘53 overdate for sure!

Again, love the 1757, very much!

I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.

  • Thanks guys. I'm buying more of these than I should :D

Pick a series or 2 and stick with those it is easy to be all over the place and it can be costly. If you can afford it then enjoy as many series as you can. I only collect 1 reales and I doubt I will ever get into other denominations maybe once things get so slow I need to add a new denomination will see over time.
