Opinions Sought....Ike Unc. Registry Set

RichRRichR Posts: 3,864 ✭✭✭✭✭

First some background...I'm nearing completion of an Ike proof registry set in PR-68/69 UCAM...and ow I want to turn my attention to the Unc. side.

If $$$ is an issue...what grade on average would you target...MS-65?...66?...67? But I'm thinking that even 67 might be overkill.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

    1971-P in GEM MS65.
    1972 Type 2 in Choice MS63.
    1976-P Type 1 in MS65.
Mostly all of the others in MS66.
MS66 Ikes are "more than a single point" attractive than MS65s, in general.

I'd go for a matching display. In other words, I wouldn't have a few with wild toning while
    the other are not.
    Blast white/clad with luster.

Braddick...66s should make for a nice set...without making me eat dog food to pay my other bills!

    I agree.
Avoid those Ikes- even in GEM- that have that dull and somewhat lifeless brownish clad toning. It mutes the luster and the overall appeal is marginal. Sparkling bright with cartwheel luster is the look I'd seek. A consistant and matching set of these would be eye catching and down the road, easier to sell if need or want be.
