I figured I'd take a look at overseas Michael Jackson cards and fell upon this loaded set full of athletes/artists/musicians/entertainers. It looks like it was released in 4 album series. It states is was created in 1969 but was curious why PSA doesn't differentiate by year. The Michael Jackson in Album 4 or Series 4 is clearly not a 10-11 year old Michael Jackson. Moviecard.com believe the Album 4 set was released in 1972, which would put MJ at about 14 years old which looks about right but still seems too soon. Looking at photos, maybe 1973 or 1974. MJ had significant facial feature changes around 1975.

Yes, it's an interesting set issued with 4 albums, one per year over a span of 4 years, 1969-1972. I've got the whole thing but they are glued into the album pages and it's pretty destructive to the backs when removing them. Troy's website, moviecard.com, is usually pretty accurate. He puts a lot of time and effort into fact-checking his data on foreign sets. On rare occasion you'll find one on his site that needs to be revised, but for the most part he is a very reliable source.

Yes, PSA has the info incorrect in their data specs which results in them mislabeling cards from this set. They label all of them as 1969, instead of doing it the right way with 1969 for the first series/album, 1970 for the second, 1971 for the third; and, 1972 for the fourth.

I appreciate the quick response! I figured that was the case and surprised PSA hasn't corrected the flip information. I know they were hiring a position that did that type of historical research a year ago. I remember buying the 1974 Barrat set years ago and decided to expand my non-sports collection recently. I like how many musicians are in this particular set even though they are stickers. Appreciate the info!
