Is the circled mark a nick or a strike-thru?

I'm not too concerned about whether this mark would prevent a coin from an FS designation. Just gathering opinions on whether it's a nick or a strike-thru and perhaps on how you can tell.

I think you should be more concerned about whatever this is.

That one's is obvious and I did have a passing thought to add descriptive to....it is a strike-thru. But I'm more centered on the other mark.

I like it when people ad pics of the whole coin. That way you can see how good or bad the rest of the coin is compared to a very small section that is shown.

Looks like a nick based on the way the metal has formed mounds on either side of the impression.

That's me as well but I'm after another subject of discussion.

Below the mark....do you think the upper mark caused the lower small segment of the 6th step to form?

Let @in2Coins photograph it and you can see what time the event occurred. lol Looks like material there to me and not a scratch. JMO

I've felt that way many times as well when pics are only of the steps. There are way too many folks who do not know how to collect Jefferson nickels. The steps belong to the 2nd 1967-P in my collection,

No one, knows everything, about every coin series, unless your name is Dave Bowers. Don't criticize. Teach us.
And also the know-it-all that Dan Carr said was banned from posting here.
I was thinking the same thing. The OP's pictures are too small, too blurry and most likely too insignificant. But @in2Coins photos would tell the tail for sure.
