For those of you who are collecting the US Mint Armed Forces 2.5 oz silver medals, I stopped by the Mint display at the Long Beach Show on Thursday to enquire on the program. I have collected two of each of the five medals produced so far but have seen no information on the final medal, the US Space Force version.
According to the gentleman I spoke to on Thursday, they are still in the design phase and it has been a particularly onerous process with this agency. In fact, he could not even provide any estimated dates for their release.
There you have it.

I hope they’re negotiating to get Steve Carell’s likeness from the Netflix series “Space Force.”
30+ years coin shop experience (ret.) Coins, bullion, currency, scrap & interesting folks. Loved every minute!
Would the medal include a jar of Tang?
Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
Why not just use this design? If they try to put all kinds of people on it, it will be another fail.

The final artwork has to be approved by three hardworking bureaucrats. So far they've only been able to find two.
