This happened after the end of the auction because the lot didnt sell for as much as they thought it should. It was a horrible photo taken by fanatics for the auction. the card sold for $600 and i guess recent comps were a little over $900. photos and further details can be found across the street.
terrible look for fanatics in my opinion. It sure gives me pause when considering them in the future.

So, they put a reserve on an item without saying they do reserves?
Sounds about what you'd expect. I still peruse their auctions but there's less and less on there I'm even interested in as the weeks go.
no reserve as far as i know. It was a straight auction, it ended and there was a winner. then, someone at fanatics realized that the photo taken for the auction was terrible, card half covered by someones hand. they decided to "cancel" the auction that already was won because they deemed that it didnt go for enough.

Super shady. I never liked PWCC and the combo of PWCC and Fanatics is proving to be not any better
I was high bidder in one of their recent auctions.
Watched the timer click down, 3,2,1......Sold
Next day, it showed that I was outbid.
Scumbags and unethical.
I guess it depends on the state and jurisdiction, but I would think there are or at least should be legalities in place, especially on an established auction site, to not allow shenanigans such as this to occur.
The picture was horrible and should've been changed. I'm guessing the seller tried to contact them and they didn't get to him before the auction ended. In this case, it was justified as its not Fanatics property.
So far have had no issues since Fanatics took over but appreciate the warnings. Curious did you contact them and did they give an explanation? I was a vocal detractor of PWCC hope Fanatics will be better (a low bar).
Difference is the old totally crooked crew were not profesional criminals with a cadre of high paid mouthpieces and politicians in pocket.
Not the winning bidders fault either, they found the listing. Very bad look and fanatics should have honored the sale and made it up to the seller somehow.
this is the way

The correct action is for Fanatics to compensate the seller on their end for their mistake. The buyer should take the card at what they purchased it for as once the auction is over it's their property unless they fail to make the payment.
