And a lot, revealed when a varnish-like layer of contaminants was dissolved away and whatever was in the crud was revealed on the surface. The Before photo shows the varnish(?), especially in LIB, along the edge of Lincoln’s face, and around the reverse lettering. (Only pure acetone / xylene was used - neither reacts with copper in any way.) Before
A few more from the 1920’s. They may be a bit garish, but I like them. These are all ungraded. Being no kind of expert, I don’t even know if they are market-acceptable or not, but they have found their final home in my set.
Sometimes the toning is very obvious on copper, and other times you have to get just the right light angle. I use these animations to show 9 different angles as if you were tilting it in-hand.
Yes, the 1919 really looks like this. The -S is more subtle but I love the gentle iridescence.
