Question on how to price a card.

I apologize if this is a stupid question. My buddy recently had a PSA submission returned to him and a small part of his submission was some 1986 Topps Baseball cards that he pulled from two unopened vending boxes. One of the cards he received back from PSA is a Don Sutton in PSA 9 condition. We both know the demand for Sutton cards is not that high but he is a hall of famer and the pop report for PSA 9's is only 19. According to the PSA website the most recent sale took place in May of 2020 for $60.
In situations like this (low pop and no recent sales) what is the best way to determine the current market value? My buddy does not sell on EBAY otherwise he could auction it off and let the market decide the value.

I would have him send here
https://4sharpcorners.com/consign-with-us/
And they will send him payment when it's done
Thanks. What percentage does a collector get back from 4 sharp corners? If a card sells for $100 what does the collector get back in return?
The last sale shown on VCP was July 2023 for $10.80
For a PSA 9 that's not OC?
Regarding 4 Sharp Corners - What's the best option a 5, 7, or 10 day auction?
Here is the listing.

There's no reason to send the card anywhere to be auctioned off. Just have him throw it on Ebay starting at $9.99 and it will sell for what it is worth. EVEN if it was a $60 card, you would be paying them 15% AND paying the shipping to get it there.
A few have sold since 2020, but the most recent auction for this card was a dud. A couple of Buy It Now cards went for approximately 38 to 45 dollars after COVID hit, so you may want to find an eBay seller to list it that way for around 40 or so and see if you get a bite.
Gobble.
Good advice thank you. Last question and this is not about the 86 Sutton. Its about any card in general. You would figure 4 Sharp Corners and other big sellers on EBAY would receive higher prices than say Dick Smith selling his cards on EBAY. My buddy has never sold on EBAY but has bought ample items. Would the money he's saving on commission and postage be higher than what the amount that 4 Sharp Corners will receive compared to what he will receive by selling it on EBAY?
Wow that's insane. The grading fees are higher than the price the card sold for. He can at least get $40 for it as he was already offered that from a local dealer.
It depends on the card. Personally, I'm not sending a card to anyone to sell for me that isn't over $20k or extremely rare. I'm not bagging on 4SC but I've never heard anyone suggest to send singles to them for consignment. There's Probstein, Greg Morris(for nice raw vintage) COMC for low end raw, DC Sportscards also has a great reputation for consignments.
For stuff that is under $100 it just doesn't make sense to send off for consignment if can sell it yourself.
$40 from a dealer?! Take it!!!!
Gobble.
Makes sense. Thank you.
4 Sharp sells a ton of singles. This card is too low value IMO but they auction a ton of card, fees are very competitive and I’ve heard service is top notch.
Agree that its a low value card. If my buddy uses a consigner it will consist of many cards that are valued over $100.
