Bought a Baseball card

I don’t collect cards but after seeing a YouTube video on cracking out I’m thinking that is maybe where I should have focused. This card is nostalgic for me. I opened a Card shop in 1989. There were a few big cards This was one. I had forgotten all about it until I ran across this card.

  • I'd say enjoy the card but I would not invest much in cracking this and paying fees and hoping for a better grade. If you look at the white lines at the bottom of the card it looks like maybe 70/30 centering. Dont see PSA doing better than an 8.

But hope you do enjoy getting back into the hobby and finding cards you appreciate. And cracking can still be a nice play if you find the right candidates but dont think this one has a lot of potential for you.

I didn’t mean to infer I was cracking this out. That is a different topic, I wasn’t clear. This guy on YouTube cracked out a CSG 8.5 refractor (best I remember) he paid $550 and got it into a PSA 10 he says worth $6k to $10k. Better than anything I’ve done with coins. Somehow I got to that link. I have no intention to do anything with this card except remember my short time in the baseball card business.

It’s probably best to not listen to anyone on YouTube. Or here. So don’t listen to this either.
