GTG: 1921 Morgan. Hint: It is MS, not AU. Currently graded by NGC and slabbed in a 1997-2001 era holder.
The reverse really is almost mark free so the focus of my pics is on the obverse.

That's pretty far below everyone else.

MS65. Wow you guys were harsh. I thought maybe this one had a shot at a higher grade as its surface preservation is in my mind exceptional. It does have a lot of tiny marks but overall the coin has a nice appearance in hand, IMO. I will leave it as-is based on the response here.
I thought it was on the upper part of the 64 spectrum, but the cheek was too busy for me at 5. NGC65 makes sense, but the coin has no shot at 66 so I'm not sure what you thought it might upgrade to...

It's hard to find these nice raw of which there are so many.
It's a solid 65, 66 is a push.
I always push to the highest grade i can get to. I would have guessed 65 in this case. Very clean fields, but too many tick marks on the cheek to get to 66.
I don't think we were too harsh, I think NGC was too gracious. The chatter on the cheek and the ding in the bonnet hold it back from being a " gem" coin in my opinion.
Wouldn't try to cross to PCGS.
